Los Patios de Córdoba
Los Patios de Córdoba son un verdadero espectáculo de color, flores y plantas de miles de especies, aunque la más predominante sea el geranio. No es sólo una decoración de los patios, es una tradición que pasa de generación en generación como si de un tesoro se tratara. Hay un festival cada año que se celebra desde 1921, en el que se premia al mejor “Patio:” al más bonito, al más cuidado, al más cordobés.
A mí me encantó trabajar sobre este tema y llevarlo a una colección. Tuve que ahondar en mis orígenes cordobeses y tratar de llevar ese amor por las flores a mis dibujos.
The backyards of Córdoba are a veritable show of colour, flowers and plants belonging to thousands of different species, geranium being the most prevalent. It’s not just about the decoration of the yards, it’s also a tradition handed down and treasured from generation to generation. There is an annual festival held since 1921, in which the best yard is elected: the most beautiful, the best looked after, the most representative of Córdoba.
I loved to work on this subject and make a collection about it. I had to dig deep into my ancestry from Córdoba and tried to take that love for the flowers to my drawings.
